I wish you a very happy Christmas and a nice and healthy New Year!!
Aan al mijn lezers.
Ik wens jullie een hele fijne Kerst en een mooi en gezond Nieuw Jaar!
This is a blog about, cats, my home, quilts and cooking. Dit is een blogje dat gaat over katten, mijn huis, quilts en koken
I collected some branches in the little wood across the door and planted them in a zinc garden tub. Two buckets of grit made the branches secure against the curiosity of the cats.
Some pampilles give some extra light and shimmer in the tree.
I love my little Wintertree even when it does look anything like a Christmas tree.
Luckely the leaves of the miscantus grass and the oak tree are bright with yellows and gold. They bring a bit of light in these depressing days
A little wreath I made last year is more beautiful then ever. Tiny mosses have attatched themselfs to it and make it very pretty. The rusty color of the iron cakestand looks wonderful with it.
Even the zinc garden conainers look wonderful in this weather.Their color and the color of the leaves makes for a pretty good combination.
One winters day, I was up very early that morning and the moon was still in the sky I made this spooky picture of her. I put Caitlin up a big zinc garden container and there was that very early morning light. The long grasses where covered in frost and their was a very pale moon in the sky. This was the perfect picture to be on the home page of our cattery site and after 4 years it still is.
Those who know me a little longer also know that I have been a quilter for a long time.Cats have of course always inspired me and so I have made more then 5 quilts with cats as my inspiration. I am very proud of the little quilt above. The fabric of the border was the inspiration for the applique in the center.
This is an even older quilt. Here my inspiration was a little drawing by Paul Klee. This cat has only dark thoughts...She thinks of the bright little bird that is on top of her head and what nasty things she could do with it......
This is a recipe I invented myself a while agoo and It tasted so great that I make it at least once every two weeks.
The pieces of salmon where baked until not quit done in the center and then seasoned with some mixes herbs (do not know what is exactly in them) especially for salmon and some pepper and salt. Garnish with some dill if you have it. Enjoy your leftovers meal!
Today there was a fleamarket in the neigbouring town. It is only once a month and I decided to make the trip. I cam home with little more than a small box full of crystal pampilles.
I could not resist them. I saw the Christmas tree glistening with these pampilles and bougth about 40 of them. I was a bit of a spend since these cost 2 euro's a piece or about 3 dollars a piece.
It does not totally spoil my fun since they do sparkle as much als the perfect ones...But next time I will look more carefull before spending so much og my hard earned money.
A vintage jug on top of the glass cabinet was the ideal vase for this green bouquet. A beautiful reminder of a summer past and a promise for a new spring.
Een oude lampetkan op de glaskast wat een ideale vaas voor dit groene boeket. Een herinnering aan een vergane zomer en een belofte voor een nieuwe lente.
